When I first watched this movie, I thought it was obvious what it was about, (spoilers) man kills himself and is trapped in a purgatory as a result of this. But the filmmakers layer so much of this purgatory throughout the movie, it's amazing what can be missed. And it turns out, it wasn't just purgatory but the last few thoughts of Ryan Goslings life.
