Land Expansion

There are a couple references to his land size. Chief Rainwater says the size of Rhode Island. Jamie says something like he has expanded it over 500,000 acres. Rhode Island for reference is about 1.2 million acres. I thought I remember something said of it being 200,000 acres. All of these things can be true. But if Jamie expanded it due to his lawyering, why isn't that praised more. Why don't they ever looking at selling that? Does any land acquired after John Dutton's promise to his father get grand fathered in for lack of a better term. Beth lauds herself for "building a moat" but she is only adding a few thousand based on her deals, and Jamie is still looked at as the anti-christ.
