What happened to him?

Seemed like his career was really developing in the 90's with minor roles but really took off with Deuce Bigelow, Hot Chick, Animal etc and he carried those films well. Looked like he was going to be the next Adam Sandler, but then after 2005-2006 you haven't heard anything about him?
Did he retire or just want to get away from acting?
