Was Alfie really in love with Susan Sarandon?

She seems to be the one that hit Alfie the hardest, even moreso than Marissa Tomei. Did he just like the lifestyle?

I think that's just the way Alfie is, falls hard fast. I think the lifestyle was part of it. Compared to Siena Miller who had to live with Alfie and had head problems Susan would be someone more long term though.
