Just saw the trailer for this and have to ask, what new thing are they bringing to the table? Director has said that it is a combination of Alien and Aliens? what does that even mean, that was Resurrection basically. Alien has been such a successful franchise because they up the ante in each film, the ones that didn't have been the worst.

Alien - slasher horror in space
Aliens - a lot more plus a queen
Alien 3- alien made from a dog, ripley has a burster, weyland
Alien Resurrection - going to earth, alien hybrid, alien most under "control"
Alien vs. Predator - duh
Alien vs. Predator 2 - nothing (bad)
Prometheus - the engineers
Convenant - basically nothing, but had some lower level aliens, robot love maybe (also bad)
Romulus - TBD but based on the trailer don't see anything

You'll be shocked to learn that not only do they not introduce anything new, but everything is a constant rehash of the older movies. It's just reference after reference of something done in a previous movie. They someone manage to make the Alien not scary.
