Worst Fears Realized

Post by Crumb678 »

Finally got done with Season 2 and all I can say is: disappointing. They dragged out the cliffhanger from Season 1 through the entire season which may be a first. No answers to any questions from season 1, and more mystery into a mediocre rabbit hole. I might let this slide if we were getting seasons every year but this one took 3 years to make. They may be able to salvage this series if we get a quick season 3 and it's the final season. 4 Seasons of this would be pushing this to terrible.

Items of contention:
Mark declaring his wife is alive but taking the whole season to realize it (??) or doing anything to rectify it, are there police in this world?! They literally went back and forth the first couple episodes to question what he meant when he passionately yelled that at a dinner party.

After OTC, the employees are given more freedom to roam inside? For a company that is all encompassing they're pretty bad at it.

Very little world building - we get the goat farm inside but to what end

The ORTBO - These are innies? shouldn't they be more blown away by being outside? There is a comment about the moon but if I'm a soul seeing it for the first time I'm not looking away. More mystery about Milchek saying it's the biggest water fall, dumb.

Everyone being fooled by fake innie helly except for Irving. Thought it was obvious, why didn't anyone else care about the night gardener comment

Major spoilers - the data refinement is building a conscious? And after their last one they're going to kill someone because...reasons, and some how this is a major breakthrough for the company?, no no no no no no. Just no.

One highlight was John Turturro obviously. Great acting and the character was leaps and bounds above the others. Everyone else seemed to regress.

This season easily could have been the first 3 episodes. This is just off the top of my head after finishing and I'm on my work break, I'm sure I'll come up with more.

This season was...
just
so

SLOW!

Absolutely correct that the season could have been 3 episodes. First season moved so much more fluidly, dove a little deeper into Lumon each time. I'm also finding I'm caring less about the characters each episode this season.
